This lesson, we reviewed the clothes we covered last week. With the Dragon Boat Festival approaching, we introduced the festival to the children, explaining how we celebrate it, what we eat, and how to make the food. To engage the children more in the topic, we even created artwork about rice dumplings (粽子). We used recycled cardboard, glue, black ballpoint pens, and green card paper as materials. We made the ‘zongzi’ step by step, and the children had to ensure they wrapped them well with the green card paper so the filling wouldn’t spill out. The children were really proud of their artwork.
In addition to the festival topic, we also learned the new topic “fruits” (水果). During the discussion time, we shared our favorite fruits, what they look like, and what they taste like.
In writing this week, we learned how to write the word “水果”. It’s not easy, but everyone had a chance to try. Well done, everyone!
