Lesson content:
**Part 1:**
In class, we reviewed the initials (声母 shēngmǔ) and finals (韵母 yùnmǔ) of pinyin, as well as the
pronunciation and writing of whole syllables (整体认读音节 zhěngtǐ rèndú yīnjié). We explained the
connections and differences between them and used games to stimulate the children’s understanding of
pinyin. The learning process is about “learning while playing and playing while learning” (学中玩,玩中学).
**Class activity (课堂活动)**: We played a pinyin game called “Postman” (邮差送信), where the children
held cards with initials or finals and helped the postman deliver them to the correct mailbox.

which helped deepen their memory of each pinyin sound.
**Part 2:**
We completed a pinyin exercise test together, using writing and discussion to deepen the children’s

in Chinese (中文的听说读写).
