On the 23rd June, the school organised some of the higher form students to participate in the Annual All British Oratory Competition staged by the UK Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education (UKAPCE). Our school obtained excellent results in two of the programmes.

As our students appeared for the first time on stage, inevitably they displayed slight timidity. However, through thorough preparation, they gained confidence as the show progressed and eventually, received applause and recognition by the panel of judges.

Among others, 李坤尧,was awarded the second personal prize among 32 contestants for his natural performance of “ My good mother, My good father “ with rich and impressive contents.

谢海伦、高诗敏、李嘉俊 ,李沅霖performed vividly “ Friend of the elephant”, “ The free flight of the little bird “ and “ The colour of Spring “ respectively. These are songs that they have learnt from the class and ultimately, they were awarded second prize in the group competition.

Through taking part in this recitation competition, the students had the opportunity to actively made use of what they had learnt in the class thus training their courage, making friends and most importantly, creating the opportunity for the students to improve their Chinese. In an effort to further enhance the students’ enthusiasm to learn Chinese, we will continue to organise more activities related to the learning of the Chinese language. These events will be announced in the near future. Continuing parental supports are requested please.
