New class lesson one, teaching content:
1. A simple introduction was required from each pupil, to test their level of Chinese as well as encouraging them to speak Chinese confidently in front of their new class.
2. A recap of Chinese Paradise A2 lessons 1 to 3. Consolidating their knowledge on ‘How to talk time/dates in Chinese’, recapping Monday to Friday, and counting 1 to 10.
3. Studying Chinese Paradise 2A lesson 4. Learning to ask questions on dates, such as ‘What date is it today?’ and ‘Which day of the week is it today?’
4. Practice writing ‘calendar’ in Chinese (ensuring correct stroke order).
5. Fun time: short video on ‘pin yin’, and discussions that stemmed from the video.
6. Reading time: ‘Yu Wen’ year 1 book 1 – Lessons 3 and 4.
Homework:
1. Practice writing the characters ‘Ri Li’ (calendar)

2)阅读&理解:学习、朗读汉语乐园P12,下部短诗。配合观看小片《中国地理》,在观看的时候,认识中国地理的基本知识,找出北京,香港,长城,长江,黄河,珠穆朗玛峰。

2)生字&对话:5个生字即“我从北京来”。使用学过的句子谈论北京,形式为学生自由提问、老师解答(白老师正是从北京来的:))。

1) Review. while watching the video “2013 Welcome to Beijing”link: 介绍北京的短片, we reviewed some color words, I, you, he, she, and how to use “what” to ask questions and to reply with “this is “and “that is”.
2)New words & Dialogues. “我wǒ从cóng北běi京jīng来lái”. Ms Bai is from Beijing, we take this advantage by encouraging pupils asking any questions about Beijing & China.
3) Continue with the writing skills. “UP—Down, Left—-Right”. Practised “Beijing/北京”.
5) Fun time: we watch a short video “map of China“ link: 地图看中国, we talked the shape of China, agreed it looks like a rooster.

1) Google a map of China, find Beijing, Shanghai or your hometown.
