-Starter: group discussion time: What do we say when we have friends come to our home?
Example:
T: Hello! Welcome to my home老师:你好,欢迎来我家
S: Thank you! 学生:谢谢!
Plenary: Group activities:Students will have role play, pretend someone is coming to the house for a visit. Use all the greetings and politeness. Star student for the session will get one sticker. 学生组成小组,玩过生日到朋友家玩的游戏。通过游戏练习学到的礼貌用语。

B.Learn to write 笔画
-捺,点,提
-Strokes hunt – find the correct strokes in the class room! 在教室的各个角落里找到老师所说的笔画。
通过画画和游戏,学习三个新的基本笔画

C.Culture and knowledge 文化:
-Let’s talk about our Chinese names. Who is your favorite person and does this person have a Chinese name?
-Let’s give our bear a Chinese name!
自己和最喜欢的人的名字。给班级中的小熊起中文名字。通过活动鼓励学生对使用中文的兴趣。

D.Learn to write (Part 2)笔画
-Practice all the strokes we have learnt so far撇,竖,横, 捺,点,提
-Make our own words! – put all stokes together and make new words 把所学的笔画组合起来,将有新的生词
Plenary: Who is the big detective? Let’s find the strokes in the picture! 小小侦探:在各个生词中找到刚才学习的笔画。

Culture to cover in lesson:
-Where is capital of China 中国的首都
-What is the most famous animal from China (what other cities in China do you know?) – Follow up from last lesson 中国的国宝和城市

Homework (preparation for next lesson):
-Practice all the greetings and politeness– will be tested at the beginning of next lesson, please see Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 from the text book
-Practice all the strokes we have learnt at home
-Think about your favorite game and try to tell your classmates next time in Chinese (with teacher’s help)
