2023年09月24日 2023年9月24日 家庭作业 — Review & Homework
Today’s lesson is based on the topic of the Mid-Autumn Festival, as the festival is coming up next week. We have shared the story and background, as well as how Chinese people celebrate this festival. Some children shared their experiences of having mooncakes before with chocolate or mango filling, while others had never tried them and thought there might be noodles in the filling. Finally, we were able to share a traditional lotus seed paste mooncake with egg yolks, and it was yummy!
For the vocabulary section, we reviewed the words we’ve covered in the last few lessons related to the topic of the classroom. Regarding the Mid-Autumn Festival topic, we learned a few words, such as 中秋节 (zhōng qiū jiē – Mid-Autumn Festival), 月亮 (yuè liàng – moon), 月饼 (yuè bǐng – mooncake), 秋天 (qiū tiān – autumn), 玉兔 (yù tù – rabbit), 茶 (chá – tea). I’ve attached the vocabulary cards along with this message and a link to word wall games for you to review at home.
The most enjoyable part was when the children made their own mooncakes with molds. These were made entirely from food ingredients (flour, oil, salt, and food coloring) yesterday at my home, theybut they were meant solely for display and fun!
Have a nice week ahead and happy Mid-autumn Festival!
