Today’s lesson theme was The Feelings Fair.
I guided the children to recognize different emotions through the story “The feelings fair.” The main characters were Jude, Prit, and Gor, who spent a whole day at the fair. From buying tickets to experiencing different rides and activities, they went through various emotional changes.

During the story, the children followed the changes in the scenes and learned about the following common emotions:
• Happy
• Bored
• Worried
• Afraid
• Relaxed
• Surprised
• Angry
• Sad

Through these vivid scenarios, the children were able to better understand where emotions come from and how they are expressed. They also practiced using words to describe their own feelings. The classroom atmosphere was lively and fun, and the children actively participated, gaining a clearer understanding of emotions through interaction.

After the story, I led the children in an expression recognition activity.
I showed them nine real-life facial expression photos. The children were asked to choose the correct answer from three options—“happy, sad, angry”—to identify the emotion shown in each picture.

They were not only required to recognize the correct emotion but also to say the answer in Chinese. Through this exercise, they consolidated and deepened their understanding of these emotion-related words.

During the activity, the children were highly engaged, carefully observing facial features and trying to give accurate answers in Chinese. This part of the lesson combined fun and challenge, helping them strengthen their mastery of emotional vocabulary.

Craft Time
The final part of the lesson was a craft activity.

Materials: White paper plates, scissors, glue, and colored paper.
Task: The children created a face with an expression, which could represent any emotion such as sad, angry, or happy. The face could be modeled after a parent, grandparent, or another family member.

Purpose: This activity encouraged the children to use their imagination and creativity to express different emotions through art. While working, they not only practiced fine motor skills but also developed observation and thinking skills.

The children participated enthusiastically, and their works displayed a variety of vivid faces—some smiling happily, others showing angry expressions. Through this creative task, the children further deepened their understanding of emotions and discovered multiple ways to express them.
