今天我们学习的内容主要是中国 China:
首先我和小朋友们讨论了几个问题：
1.中国的首都是哪个城市？
北京
2.中国的官方语言是？
普通话
3.中国的国宝动物是哪个？
大熊猫
4.世界上最长的城墙在哪里？
长城
我还问小朋友们，你还了解关于中国的什么方面的知识呢？
他们就争先恐后的举例说道中国食物，比如： 点心，饺子，火锅 等。
他们回答的都非常好，点心多种多样，小朋友们最爱的是叉烧包，凤爪，小笼包等。
饺子的话也有很丰富的种类的馅儿，比如：猪肉，鸡肉等。
火锅是中国人的最爱：爱吃辣的朋友可以点香辣锅，不爱吃辣的朋友可以点清汤锅，比如鸳鸯锅是比较流行的选择。
我还给小朋友们讲解了长城和故宫这两大中国景点：
1.为什么我们要建造长城？
很久很久以前，中国常常会受到外来敌人的骚扰。
为了保护国家和人民的安全，古代的人们修建了一道很长很长的城墙，这就是长城。
长城就像一条巨龙，建在高高的山上，
可以挡住敌人，
也可以让士兵站在上面观察远方，一发现危险就马上通知大家。
所以，中国修建长城，是为了防御敌人、保卫家园。
2.故宫是什么？谁住在故宫？
很久很久以前，中国有皇帝。
皇帝是国家的领导人。
皇帝住在一个非常大、非常漂亮的地方，
这个地方叫做故宫，也叫皇宫。
在故宫里，不只是皇帝一个人住。
皇帝的家人
• 皇后
• 妃子们
• 皇子和公主
他们一起生活在故宫里，就像一个很大的家庭。
皇帝的团队
皇帝还有很多帮他生活的人：
• 太监和宫女：照顾生活、传话、打理宫殿。
DIY时间：
今天我准备的手工是绘制一个独一无二的青花瓷盘子
材料：纸盘子，彩笔，剪刀
方法：请用彩笔去装饰自己的青花瓷盘，可以加入除了蓝色之外的其他颜色。
家庭作业：
请小朋友们和家长们继续复习《恭喜发财》这首歌，希望下节课我们都能熟悉里面的歌词和动作。
Today’s lesson was mainly about China.
First, I discussed several questions with the children:
1. What is the capital city of China?
Beijing
2. What is the official language of China?

3. What is China’s national animal?
Panda
4. Where is the longest wall in the world?
The Great Wall
Then I asked the children, “What else do you know about China?”
They excitedly shared examples of Chinese food, such as dim sum, dumplings, and hot pot.
They gave very good answers.
Dim sum has many different kinds, and the children’s favorites were char siu buns, chicken feet, and soup dumplings.
Dumplings also have many kinds of fillings, such as pork and chicken.
Hot pot is one of Chinese people’s favorite foods. People who like spicy food can choose a spicy broth, and those who do not like spicy food can choose a clear soup. A split hot pot (yuan yang hot pot) is a very popular choice.
I also introduced two famous Chinese landmarks to the children: the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.

1. Why was the Great Wall built?
A long, long time ago, China was often attacked by enemies from outside.
To protect the country and keep the people safe, ancient Chinese people built a very long wall. This wall is called the Great Wall.
The Great Wall is like a giant dragon, built high up in the mountains.
It could stop enemies,
and soldiers could stand on it to look far away. When they saw danger, they could warn others right away.
So, the Great Wall was built to defend the country and protect people’s homes.

2. What is the Forbidden City? Who lived there?
A long, long time ago, China had emperors.
The emperor was the leader of the country.
The emperor lived in a very big and beautiful place called the Forbidden City, also known as the Imperial Palace.
The emperor did not live there alone.
The emperor’s family:
• The Empress
• The concubines
• Princes and princesses
They lived together in the Forbidden City like a very big family.
The emperor’s team:
The emperor also had many people who helped him in daily life:
• Eunuchs and maids: they took care of daily needs, delivered messages, and looked after the palace。
DIY Time
Today’s craft activity was to create a one-of-a-kind blue-and-white porcelain plate.
Materials:
• Paper plates
• Colored markers
• Scissors
Instructions:
Please use colored markers to decorate your own blue-and-white porcelain plate.
You may add colors other than blue if you like.
