1. Carry out routine pre-class Chinese conversation practice and review the daily dialogues and common expressions we have learned. Continue to have students say common expressions such as “today / tomorrow / yesterday / what day of the week is it?” and “today / tomorrow / yesterday / Saturday.” Within the daily dialogues that students have already mastered, practice “How is the weather today?” with responses such as it is raining today, windy, snowing, sunny, or cloudy. Students read and recognize vocabulary using word cards, including: I can play basketball, play tennis, ice skate, play table tennis, and swim; spring, summer, autumn, winter / has arrived; hot, cold, cool, and warm. Then review the sentence pattern learned in the previous lesson: “I like singing, dancing, watching movies, and playing video games. How about you?” Students are required to recognize, read, and listen to “dancing, singing, watching movies, listening to music, and playing video games,” and practice the question “What are your hobbies? I like …”. Learn the sentence pattern “What do you want to buy? I want to buy … and …” and substitute different foods. Learn the new sentence pattern “What do you want to buy?
