English Version
In this lesson, we studied the sentence patterns “I like ____” and “I don’t like ____.” This topic was introduced previously, so the main focus of this lesson was to strengthen practice and reinforce the vocabulary students have already learned, such as: have lunch, swim, jump, run, watch TV, play football, sing, build sandcastles, and plant trees.
Next, we played a game called “I Want to Get to Know You.” The game included 20 questions. Each question had two different options, and students chose the one they preferred. Examples of the questions include:
• Do you like breakfast or dinner?
• Do you like art or drama?
• Do you like summer or winter?
• Do you like superheroes or wizards?
• Do you like cats or dogs?
• Do you like museums or roller coasters?
• Do you like apples or oranges?
• Do you like hot chocolate or soda?
• Do you like pizza or fries?
• Do you like football or basketball?
• Do you like indoor or outdoor activities?
• Do you like Friday or Saturday?
• Do you like running or cycling?
• Do you like getting up early or going to bed late?
• Do you like reading or watching movies?
• Do you like dancing or singing?
• Do you like the seaside or the mountains?
• Do you like funny stories or spooky stories?
• Do you like pop music or rock music?
• Do you like drawing or coloring?
After that, we played a game called “Pass the Parcel.” I played music while the children passed a toy to the person next to them. When the music stopped, the child holding the toy had to make a sentence using the target structure, for example, “I like swimming.”
This game not only increased the children’s interest in learning but also encouraged them to express themselves. The children who held the toy were very enthusiastic and happy to answer.
We then reviewed the Chinese numbers we had learned before. Students were required to both recognize and understand spoken Chinese numbers. I showed a PowerPoint presentation and asked students to choose the correct quantity of food according to the number they heard. This activity assessed their understanding of Chinese numbers and reinforced the names of foods they had learned.
For example:
Teddy Bear says:
• I would like one fruit pie.
• I would like two bananas.
• I would like three pears.
• I would like four sandwiches.
• I would like five cupcakes.
• I would like six apples.
• I would like seven oranges.
• I would like eight limes.
• I would like nine candies.
• I would like ten strawberries.
After that, students completed a simple matching activity, pairing pictures of food quantities with the corresponding Chinese numbers.

Homework:
Students should make one sentence using “I like ____” and one sentence using “I don’t like ____,” and share them with their parents.
