This week we revised Cultural Life. We first had a dictation of the new characters and words that needed to be mastered from last week, and found that the students had not memorised them very well, so they need to continue revising at home to strive to remember and be able to write them. We then studied the Dragon Boat Festival, a traditional Chinese festival. We then did some exercises.

This is my daily life. At 7 AM, I eat breakfast: eggs, milk, and bread. I put some money in my wallet and go to school. For lunch, I eat at school. Sometimes I eat dumplings, sometimes chow mein. When I order dishes, I choose vegetarian dishes. In the afternoon, I like to play sports – basketball or football. After school, I go to a supermarket to buy soda and candy, but mum says it’s not healthy. For dinner, mum makes soup, stir-fried green vegetables, roast duck, and fish. After the meal, we drink tea and eat fruit and juice. On weekends, we go to watch a movie. Our cultural life is very rich. For traditional holidays, we celebrate by eating mooncakes, zongzi, and tangyuan. When cooking, I use chopsticks; when eating Western food, I use forks and knives. Buffets are very convenient, but cheap fast food isn’t necessarily delicious. I rarely drink coffee because it’s too bitter. Alcohol is only for adults. Water is the best beverage. My interests are cooking and shopping. My idol is a chef who can create great flavors. For dessert, I like cake and ice cream. I also like seafood like shrimp and crab. Lamb and beef are both very tasty. Pork stir-fried with any green vegetable is delicious. Cultural life makes my daily life more meaningful.
