今天我们的主题是 “All About Me——认识自己”。

Today’s theme was “All About Me”.
Every child is unique—we each have our own appearance, personality, thoughts, and interests. Learning to talk about ourselves helps children understand who they are and how to introduce themselves when making new friends.

We practiced simple self-introduction dialogues, such as:

A: Hello, nice to meet you. What’s your name?
B: My name is …
A: How old are you?
B: I am … years old.

🎮 Class Activity: Spin-the-Wheel Q&A Game

We played a fun spin-the-wheel game today.
The wheel contained many different questions. When I said “stop,” the arrow pointed to a random question for the children to answer. This activity encouraged them to listen carefully and express themselves in Chinese.

Some of the questions included:
• What is your favorite holiday?
• What is your favorite show?
• What is your favorite sport?
• What is your favorite color?
• What is your favorite number?
• What skill are you best at?
• What is your favorite season?
• What is your favorite food?
• What is your favorite shape?
• Who is the person you love the most?
• What pet would you like to have?
• What makes you angry?
• What makes you happy?

Through this activity, students practiced speaking, learned more vocabulary, and shared more about themselves.

🔄 Review Session

We also reviewed vocabulary we have learned before, such as the 12 zodiac animals, colors, and hobbies.

To make the review more engaging, I played an interactive game with the children:
• I said a color, and they looked around the classroom to find something in that color.
• I said an animal, and they acted like that animal.
• I said an activity, and they performed the action.

These playful activities helped reinforce their listening skills and improved their ability to use Chinese words in context.

🎨 DIY Time: My Self-Portrait

Today’s craft project was a self-portrait.
Since every child has their own personality, skin tone, and appearance, this activity encouraged them to explore who they are and express it creatively.

Materials: white paper plate, markers, oil pastels, scissors

The children were very engaged, and their artworks turned out adorable and full of character!

🏠 Homework

Please help your child practice introducing themselves in Chinese by answering:
1. What is your name?
2. How old are you?
3. What are your hobbies?
